About Anindita Sarkar

I'm Dr. Anindita Sarkar, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and founder of Affiniti+, with 26 years' experience across the NHS and local authority services, including as a former Head of Clinical Services overseeing four mental-health teams. I work across the lifespan — with children, young people, adults and organisations — covering therapy, autism and ADHD assessments, and workplace consultancy for clients including Barclays, Shell, PwC and Meta.

As a woman of colour with lived experience of dyslexia, I bring a personal understanding of what it means to feel different, and of the effort involved in finding a sense of belonging. This shapes how I work: I'm committed to making mental health support genuinely accessible and relevant across communities, not just in a generic, one-size-fits-all way.

Alongside clinical practice, I write and speak regularly on psychology and mental health for a general audience. I host Podnotes and how first series “So You Want to Be a Psychologist”, a Vispod series demystifying the route into clinical psychology, and write An Affiniti for Psychology, a Substack newsletter unpacking psychological ideas for everyday life. I also run pre recorded workshops series offering evidence-based tools delivered online.

My background spans public and private sector work, and I move comfortably between rigorous clinical detail and clear, accessible communication — whether that's for a boardroom, a podcast audience, or a general reader. I welcome speaking engagements, podcast guesting, media commentary, retreat facilitation and collaborations with publishers or fellow practitioners.
